Easy 7-Zip is an open source file decompression and compression application that offers a high compression ratio and supports a large variety of archive formats.
Among these improvements and additional features, the most remarkable ones are the icons added to the context menu entries, the few handy options added to the “Extract” dialog, letting you, for example, open the output folder or delete the source archive after the extraction is completed, or the possibility to minimize the window that shows a compression's progress to the system tray.
As you can probably notice, these aren't some groundbreaking improvements that would create a truly important difference between Easy 7-Zip and the original 7-Zip. 7-Zip was already an amazing application, with little left to improve or criticize about it. I'd say that the things offered by Easy 7-Zip are just minor tweaks, but for some 7-Zip users, they could matter quite a lot.
Pros
- Open-source
- Comes with an installation file that contains both x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) editions
- Considerably improves the "extract dialog" of 7-ZIP
Cons
- Doesn't improve 7-ZIP that much
